- Knows what’s going on with Betty and Kate
- Went to a private school for rich girls where sometimes girls kissed other girls for fun/practice and she thought it was nice enough but she noticed that some of her friends liked kissing girls a whole lot more than she did
- Saw one of her friends who liked kissing girls a lot grow up and get unhappily married to a man her family chose
- Has heard the “cosmopolitan” friends of her family make coded references to/jokes about homosexuality
- Visited Europe several times with her family and noticed the less restrictive social environment in places like Paris
- Personally feels that the look and feel of a handsome, strong man pressed up against her is one of the most delicious things in life
- Manages to have the kind of love she wants with her fiance, even though society isn’t too hot about straight women claiming their pleasure either
- Wishes the world weren’t such an awful place for girls like Betty
- Doesn’t have any idea about how that will ever happen, really. Though she’s usually full to brimming with ideas about making things better
- Is the one who really understands what’s going on with Betty after Kate leaves and spends time with her, lending her support the only way she can
- Maintains her friendship with Betty and Kate once they get back together and live in their house as “roommates”
- Will use her money and voice as a straight ally during the ’70s and feel glad to see the world change so much in her own life-time
